N.A. Sharpe was born in Throughout her high school and college years, she volunteered in the elementary school system, and, after receiving her degree, she taught autistic and schizophrenic children in a private school in Pennsylvania for five years before moving on to an administrative career. Her deep rooted love of storytelling and children's literature has led her to try her skills at writing. Beginning slowly, she entered several writing competitions and received recognition and publication thus opening the door to a freelance writing career. It has been a lifelong dream to write books for young people and, after many detours, she is finally striving towards that dream by writing a Young Adult fantasy adventure novel series with inspiration and insightful collaboration from her son. The Destineers' Journal of Fantasy Nations, an encyclopedic "field guide" of the fantastical nations was released in late February 2009, and If Wishes Were Fishes (a picture book) released June 2010.
